Cool Shit #4

It’s that time again! I have put together a list of somethings that I have been loving lately. I hope you enjoy- and comment below letting me know of something you have been into. I’m always looking to try new things!

1. Julie Ann Art

Around Christmas I was on the hunt for a Christmas card that wasn’t too sappy, but also memorable. I love getting cards from our family and friends with pictures, but I was behind the 8-ball on getting the kids pictures made, and Maren still had those awkward braces on her teeth. Enter Julie Ann Art. This woman is my spirit animal. I found a card with personality that I knew no one would forget. Sure enough, my hand written card was to be found on Facebook, SnapChat and Instagram when my friends received theirs in the mail. I just recently bought some more for my parents, sister, and Mark.

2. Weed Oil

Weed Oil

A few posts ago I told you guys about what I’m doing to help with Tech Neck. I’m still having major neck problems, but at night before I go to bed I can soothe it with weed oil. Yes, you read that right- this shit takes relaxing those tiny tired muscles to a whole new level. This is what I found out about the product: “CBD Pain Balm combines the top natural ingredients that promote joint health, CBD and Celadrin®. This balm is simple and awesome. We take Celadrin® then add the magic of organic full entourage CBD-Hemp Extract. Hemp is said to be the most healing plant on the planet. It is soothing, relieving and therapeutic.” Since I bought it, they have taken it off Amazon, but I found it HERE.

3. Master of None Season 2

I binge-watched Master of None Season 1 about 18 months ago, and as soon as I finished I immediately started hoping that season 2 was just around the corner. Not so much. Season 2 finally came out last week and I am completely obsessed. This season starts out with Dev in Italy finishing up his time as a pasta maker, and listening to him speak Italian was hilarious to me. The cinematography is top notch, and the show manages to be quirky, funny, sad, touching and just plain REAL. Watching Parks and Rec made me into a huge fan of Aziz Ansari, and I love how Master of None is heavily based off situations he has gone through in real life. He came to Huntington to do stand up a few years ago and I am still kicking myself that I missed it.

4. Ole Henriksen Power Peel

I received this in the mail a few weeks ago, and I only have great things to say about it. Up until last summer I had been having peel facials regularly, but then the facialist quit, and it’s been a sad situation ever since. This is like a little mini peel that’s gentle and  your face doesn’t look like raw bacon when you are done. Step 1 is this creamy, delicious almond cleanser/buffer. After you use that you apply the lemon peel for about 2 minutes. Then, step 3 is a thick chamomile lotion that you put on directly over the lemon. Right away you can feel it cool and soothe your skin. The box comes with 6 treatments, so I feel like buying the box was a great value. Note: The website linked above has 4% cash back on Ebates!

5. Summer Salad Recipes

Summer salads are having a  moment right now, and I have been pinning and saving recipes like a madwoman. There I so many I want to try, and I’m hoping I get the opportunity to. I love putting salad ingredients on a grill, and for some reason I have had watermelon on the brain lately. Here are links to some that have caught my eye:

Joshua McFadden’s Bitter Greens Salad with Melted Cheese

Honey Grilled Watermelon Caprese Salad

Grilled Chicken Chopped Salad

Arugula, Watermelon and Feta Salad

Strawberry Spinach Salad –>This one is AWESOME, I make it all the time.

Maybe one of these will inspire you this Memorial Day Weekend. I’m off for a much needed trip to the Jersey Shore to spend the weekend with some of my favorite people! Enjoy the holiday!
